Construction work and interim catering at the Griebnitzsee canteen

Temporary changes to canteen operations

During major construction work at the Griebnitzsee canteen, canteen operations will be temporarily adjusted. During this time, catering will be ensured through a flexibly organised, adapted offer that adapts to the respective conditions during the construction period.

From July 13 to July 24, 2026, the following opening hours apply during the construction period: 08:00 AM to 03:00 PM, with meal service between 11:00 AM and 02:30 PM.

Here's how it works

From July 13 to July 17, 2026: Start of interim catering

Food service will generally continue this week, albeit with a slightly adjusted offer: the canteen will serve one to two hot meals daily, complemented by snacks, rolls and salads. There is also an additional offer in the outdoor area of the canteen. Which dishes are on offer can be found in the menu online or in our app Mensa+.

From July 20 to July 24, 2026: Please bring your own container

The food offer will remain the same this week. However, since no dishwashing facilities are available on site, only disposable dishes and wooden cutlery will be used. Bringing your own dishes or reusable containers is therefore requested. The Relevo reusable system can also be used during this time. Relevo containers can be borrowed and returned on site. This makes meal service easier on site and, at the same time, helps reduce disposable packaging. Download the Relevo app.

During the Semester Break, From 27.07.2026: No Need to Bring Your Own Container

The canteen offer includes one to two hot meals, complemented by snacks, rolls and salads. As dishwashing is available again on site, regular canteen dishes will be used. Opening hours will be slightly adjusted due to the semester break (08:00 to 14:30), with meal service between 11:00 and 14:00.

Regular operations at the Griebnitzsee canteen are expected to resume from October. As this is a major construction project, short-term changes may occur. We will keep you updated.
