BAföG - Find Your Application Forms and Further Information

We generally recommend submitting your application through the intuitive BAföGdigital portal. The system will guide you through the application process, so you don’t need to worry about which forms are required. You can easily submit any additional documents via the BAföGApp.

If you are unable to use BAföGdigital, please send your documents to the following email address. Please include the funding number assigned to you by the office in your email!

Important note: For security reasons, email attachments are accepted only in the following formats: PDF, JPG/JPEG/JPE, and PNG. Emails with other attachments will be automatically deleted by the system and will not be delivered.

If you are unable to submit your application digitally, you can find the individual BAföG forms in PDF format available for download at the bottom of this page. Please send us your fully completed and signed application and any additional documents by mail or submit them in person during regular office hours. If you wish to submit missing documents digitally at a later date for an application submitted in paper form, please use either this email address (attachments accepted only as PDF, JPG/JPEG/JPE, or PNG!) or the upload portal (Brandenburg), providing the funding number assigned to you by the office. The funding number always begins with “111” and will be sent to you by mail.

New application forms have been available since March 2025 and must be used as a general rule. If old forms are still in stock, they may be used on a transitional basis. When applying via BAföGdigital, the current forms are used automatically.

Please note: Please also be aware that the former “BAföGdirekt” app has been discontinued!

Under “Additional Applications,” you will find forms that may also be required for your application or that must be submitted upon request by the BAföG Office.
